  • Education on the type of surgery and how to best manage yourself post-operatively
  • Educated on appropriate rice method (rest, ice, compression & elevation)
  • Prescription of stretching/range of motion exercises to ensure appropriate movement/range of motion (which depending on the stage of rehabilitation may be passive (using a stick/other arm/getting therapist to help) – no contraction of muscle actively active – movement of the limb yourself with no assistance
  • Prescription of strengthening exercises to assist in improve strength, power, performance

Total hip-replacement (THR): overall goal to improve strength and range of motion around the hip and lower limbs and improve function/performance


Total knee-replacement (TKR): overall goal to improve strength, range of motion around the knee and lower limbs and improve function/performance, coordination, balance & proprioception
Shoulder replacement: Overall goal to improve strength, range of motion around the shoulder and upper limbs and improve function/performance

Total elbow arthroplasty/replacement: Overall goal to improve strength, range of motion around the elbow and upper limbs and improve function/performance
Open reduction, internal fixation of any fractures throughout the body – Overall goal to improve strength, range of motion around the specific region and limbs and improve function/performance, especially after removing the cast


Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction/repair: Overall goal to improve strength, range of motion around the knee and lower limbs and improve function/performance and return to sports/leisure activities if required appropriately, coordination, balance & proprioception

Sports Massage for Recovery:

At Move360 we also have our remedial sports massage therapist. We are able to help you recover, reduce muscle soreness or give you a tune up for your next event.

 

Our therapists can also perform light dry needling to help aid recovery. On top of this we aim to give you a full self management program to show you how keep your body in check.
